Soon the sunlight became harder and I had to rush in. I brushed my teeth and went down streets for break bast. There is a shop near my apartment where most of bachelors like me goes for their morning tummy needs. I went there and ordered a plate of dhokla. I was enjoying my dhokla, I felt some one pulling my pants. I turned back, she was a small kid, barely 10 years old. She raised he hand before me, seems she is asking for something. I looked at her strongly, she looked pale, her eyes were dry, there was nothing in them, her face was shabby. "Give me some money, I am hungry", she said. "I won't give you money, tell me if you want something to eat?", I asked. Her face enlightened, "Vada Pav" she said. " Bhaiya isko ek Vada Pav dedo", I asked the man at the counter. She gave a smile and went to the counter. I was feeling pity on her. I paid the bills and returned back.
On the way I was thinking, She got her break fast, but what about lunch,what about dinner, what about tomorrow? My sympathy was nothing for her, not more than just a bootless Ephemeral compassion!!!
